There is simply no Photoshop instructor in the world like the tormented, hilarious Donnie Hoyle. In his “You Suck at Photoshop” video series Donnie provides tutorials on a wide range of Photoshop tools while whining and sniffling about his life, which seems to be crumbling further apart with each new episode.
Many of the “You Suck at Photoshop” episodes bring tears to my eyes—even as Donnie insults me and calls his wife (and her lover) names that I cannot print here due to AC Blog’s family-friendly nature.
If you have a quirky sense of humor and don’t mind a few crude words, you absolutely have to check out “You Suck at Photoshop.” If ever a series was created for the digital photographer who needs a change of pace, this is it. And frankly, chances are good that somewhere in all Donnie’s cuckolded misery he’ll actually teach you a trick or two. But it doesn’t matter. “You Suck at Photoshop” is a gift from the humor heavens for those us living and breathing Photoshop.
Of course Donnie might offend you. And so I might offend you by sending you his way. But it’s worth the risk. Donnie rocks. And as the saying goes (I think), “Mockery is the greatest form of flattery.” So Donnie is flattering Photoshop users as much as he is abusing us.
“You Suck at Photoshop” was recommended to me by Jason Nunes, an experience designer, writer and Photoshop wiz. Donnie’s program is featured on “My Damn Channel,” which has enough offbeat, witty, dirty-mouthed humor to risk sucking you away from the Photoshop work you really need to be doing. So viewer be warned.

And hey, please share if you happen to know anything about the geniuses behind the making of “You Suck at Photoshop.” Better yet, let us know if you if you know about any other photo-oriented humor worthy enough of taking us away from our Photoshop layers and resizing and cloning and masking and. . .
