Yesterday I featured an amazing video by Simon Carter. Today, I point you to a second video featuring Carter, in which he talks (with an amazing, grounded calm) about exactly what goes into making great rock climbing images.

For a recent article I wrote for the North American Nature Photographer’s Association (NANPA), I was charged with figuring out how both experienced pros and dedicated amateurs could “take more creative images.” The short answer:
Pick up the phone!
The more specific answer: Call experts of ever shape and size and talk to them about the things you are interested in photographing.
That might seem either obvious or irrelevant, but I would argue that it is neither.
